Are you a high school student? Do you have a high school student? Either way, we’re glad you’re here! We love high school students and hope you’ll check out one of our ministries designed just for you. Students in grades 9-12 are invited to join us as we study the Bible, enjoy game nights, serve, and build relationships and connections.
Sunday Morning Bible Study
During our Sunday morning Education hour, we will dig into the Word—getting to know Jesus better and focusing on how God’s Word changes our walk as Jesus’ disciples. There’s plenty of time to get to know other students and leaders too. We will study a variety of topics and books of the Bible to allow the students to grow in their faith.
WOW! for Youth
Every week 9th-12th grade students from all over Dakota/Scott County gather for our Word On Wednesday! (WOW!) experience that combines prayer and praise, studying Scripture, and relationship building. We meet from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the youth room. Messiah welcomes all students to join. This is a great way to get plugged in on a weekly basis.
Each summer the Senior High Youth are offered a couple opportunities to participate in servent mission trips. Over the years, they have led VBS, led soccer camps, painted camp buildings, built a pool shower house, cleared wood and built fire trenches. Some of the places they have served include: Portland, Oregon; Lansing, Michigan; and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Tubing the Cannon River
Join us on August 26 at 11:00 a.m. for tubing on the Cannon River. Tubing cost – $5.00 per person. Deadline for payment is August 23, the payment can be given to Andy Frerich. Messiah is paying half the fee to reduce the cost for Messiah members and guests. We need you to let us know you are coming by completing a form and pre-paying for the event (make checks payable to Messiah). Click the image to upload the form.
Life jackets are available upon request, free of charge or you can bring your own. They recommend that this trip is best suited for children 5 years and older. We recommend wearing a pair of old tennis shoes, water shoes or sandals (flip flops are not recommended). Also, grab some twine to tie your tubes together so you can float in groups down the river. This trip can take anywhere from 2-3 hours depending on the speed of river.
