We will welcome author and speaker Heidi Goehmann on Sunday, February 23. She will lead the Bible study hour for adults from 9:15 – 10:15 am and will have a special presentation for youth from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Heidi specializes in bringing spiritual understanding to our mental, emotional, and relational health concerns and crafts her talks to be unique for your group, your needs, and your context. Each presentation is theological in nature while offering practical tools for mental and relational health. Her topics will be:

9:15 am. Adult Presentation: Finding Hope: Where God and Mental Health Meet. This presentation roots out misconceptions in both the culture and church around mental health so that participants walk away with stronger theological and psychological footing around mental health topics. This basic overview of emotions and mental health diagnoses will also provide practical tools for you and your relationships in the areas of mental, emotional, relational health.

3:00 pm. Youth Presentation: Emotions & the Gospel: The Grit and Gift of Emotions. We each experience more than 400 emotions on any given day simply by existing in the world. Often these emotions can be confusing, inconvenient, annoying, and at times, overwhelming. We also have the emotions of our family and friends to consider. Good thing the Gospel is for our emotions too. We’ll gather to learn what God has to say about emotion and gain new tools to navigate these hundreds of emotions that impact our mental health and relationships each day.
