Our Mission:

Connecting all people to a life of hope, rooted in Christ.

We believe that we have a God who loved us so much that He became man, took our sins upon Himself, died on the cross, and rose again to forgive our sins. Because of His amazing sacrifice, if we believe in Him, we have hope that life on this earth isn’t all there is for us. There’s something far greater ahead for us: a life in heaven for all eternity.

    We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the true, inspired Word of God.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

We believe that God is Triune, three persons in one divine being-Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”  Matthew 28:19

We believe from the beginning God created all things from nothing.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  Genesis 1:1

Humanity was created perfect/holy but fell into sin; now everyone is infected with sin.
“God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.  Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.” Psalm 53:2-3

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life and suffer the punishment for sin by dying on the cross.
“This is love:  not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”  1 John 4:10

Three days after his death, Jesus rose from the dead.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have enteral life.”  John 3:16

Jesus Christ will return to judge all people – both the living and the dead.
“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne . . . The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.”  Revelation 20:12

Those who believe in Christ will be raised to renewed, eternal life.
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.  For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.”  Romans 6:4-5

New Life in Christ is lived out in everyday life – loving God and loving others.
“. . .live a life worthy of the calling you have received.  Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”  Ephesians 4:1-2

God creates saving faith through His Spirit in the waters of Holy Baptism.
“. . .he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.  He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. . .”  Titus 3:5

We believe that in the Lord’s Supper we receive Christ’s Body and Blood in, with, and under the bread and wine for the forgiveness of our sins and strengthening of our faith.
“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”  Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.  This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”  Matthew 26:26-28

    Belief and Practice

With the universal Christian Church, Messiah teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, who created all things and sustains them still; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human, suffered, died, and was resurrected in victory over death and Satan to redeem the fallen creation; and the Holy Spirit, who works faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.

    Being “Lutheran”

Our congregation accepts and preaches the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. For this reason, Messiah is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

We’d love to have you join us for worship to see what our hope is all about!
